24 Jun The addition of Mark J. Fletcher, ENP, as Vice President
911inform, LLC, the only all-encompassing platform to help emergency response teams better manage communication and connected-building controls directly related to an emergency situation, announces the addition of Mark J. Fletcher, ENP, as Vice President – Public Safety Solutions. Fletcher joins the company with over 3 decades of experience in the telecommunications industry with much of that focusing on modern and Next Generation Public Safety solutions. Fletcher, the key author and proponent of Kari’s Law, will initially be focusing on the adoption of the 911inform solution suite providing critical connectivity between Public Safety Answer Points and Public Safety Dispatch Centers and critical enterprise network infrastructure found in schools, commercial buildings and other areas of mass public attendance.
In addition to the outbound visibility to situational awareness during an emergent event from MLTS phones, the solution uses information provided by a ‘Geo-Fence’ of the property alerting the enterprise on-site staff to any 911 call event from smartphones. “With over 80% of all calls to 9-1-1 originating from wireless devices, and many commercial buildings having access control plans in place, this cellular 911 event alerting provides staff with a significant heads up to emergency conditions,” Fletcher stated. “While Kari’s Law requires access to 9-1-1, and the Ray Baum’s Act provides dispatchable location, it only deals with calls originated from the MLTS. The 911inform platform accomplishes that, with building integration and the delivery of real-time additional data to Public Safety through our partnership with RapidSOS; we also provide another critical piece by alerting the enterprise of emergency events occurring anywhere inside their geofence, and that is something unique in the industry.”
The 911inform solution is completely MLTS/PBX agnostic and works with all major brands of communications platforms, such as Avaya, Cisco, Microsoft, and others, as well as standard door lock control and video camera integration through specialized gateways. The solution runs in parallel to 9-1-1 call events, not intercepting 9-1-1 calls, and the 911inform gateway provides an LTE cellular modem that can allow calls and information to egress in the event of PSTN or data network failures, ensuring the best possible chances of reaching emergency services under the worse possible conditions.
