To develop the next generation of leaders, educational institutions nationwide must prioritize safety and security. Unfortunately, current emergency response systems are outdated, lack interoperability, and do not adequately address the growing issue of cellphone 911 calls. In fact, up to 85% of all 911 calls are made from cell phones, yet existing systems fail to provide accurate location data for first responders to respond to emergencies quickly and effectively.
It is critical for schools to comply with federal laws such as Kari’s Law, RAY BAUM’S Act, and Alyssa’s Law because they prioritize the safety and well-being of students and staff. These laws aim to ensure that emergency services can be accessed quickly and easily in the event of an emergency, such as a medical emergency or an active shooter situation. Failure to comply with these laws can lead to delays in emergency response times and potential harm to individuals on school premises. By complying with these laws, schools can create a safer environment for everyone and provide peace of mind for parents, students, and staff alike.
The system must allow direct access to 911 without any access codes.
The system must provide on-site notification that the call has occurred and from what station.
